Jake Millman

My name is Jake Millman and I’m finishing my senior year at the Horace Mann School in New York City. I’m involved in student government, where I’ve served as co-Class President for the past four years, community service and sports—specifically soccer and tennis.

I’m currently taking a yearlong independent study at Horace Mann on “Introversion in Education” where I spent the first two trimester researching introversion, both generally and in the context of education, and during the third trimester I have been sitting in on classes in my school’s middle division. I embarked on this project largely due to Susan’s book. Also as a result of her book, I have been working on forming a coalition of “Quiet Kids,” with the goal of creating a group to foster discussion on introversion in the classroom as well as advocating for student introverts like myself.

In the fall I will enter Princeton University, but my academic interests are widespread so I have no idea what I will concentrate in. I am certain, however, that I will continue my studies on introversion.
